Boat Charter - St John

The Virgin Islands are dotted with many islands and reefs which make for outstanding SCUBA Diving.
	Certified Divers One of the great aspects of diving in the Virgin Islands is the close proximity of the dive sites to the boat docks. This means short boat rides and lower costs then you may expect. Morning and Afternoon dives are offered along with wreck dives (conditions permitting). The dive equipment from our recommended operation is in excellent condition so it's not necessary to bring your SCUBA gear. Summer conditions mean a water temperature of around 85 degrees so most people don't wear a wet suit. During the winter months, expect water temperatures of about 78 degrees. Most people wear a 3 mil wet suit during winter. Even if you don't need a suit for warmth, it's a good idea to wear a SCUBA skin to protect against abrasions.
	Non-Certified Divers If you can swim, unassisted without a life jacket and successfully complete PADI's medical qualifications statement, you may be able to sign up for a Introduction to SCUBA diving course. With the Intro to SCUBA course, you will go on a dive with an instructor using all the same equipment as certified divers. Most Intro dives are between 20-30 feet in depth. It's a great way to safely get a taste for SCUBA but be warned.... you may get hooked!
	Refresher Courses and Dive Certification If you haven't been diving for over a year, you may want to sign up for a Dive Refresher course. A certified instructor will re-familiarize you with the fundamentals you need to be a safe diver. Opportunity awaits for those who want to become certified as Open Water or Advanced Open Water. Once you take the on-line PADI certification course, you may complete your pool and open water dives in the Caribbean. Just think. For the rest of your life, you can smugly say: "I was certified on St. John, in the Virgin Islands"
